The lots provided by the Amur Tiger Center for a charity auction held as part of the Eastern Economic Forum are acquiring their owners. One of the items was purchased by actor Steven Seagal. A miniature copy of the Amur tiger monument in the city of Vladivostok also went under the hammer. All proceeds from the sale will be directed to the Amur Tiger Center to implement projects to preserve the unique predator.
Recall that a charity auction in support of projects to protect rare and endangered species of animals in the Far East is held on the initiative of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Presidential Plenipotentiary Representative in the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev and the Ministry of Environment. The purpose of the auction is to raise funds for the implementation of projects for the protection of rare species of animals, including Amur tigers and Amur leopards.
In total, the Amur Tiger Center provided for auction three lots: an ax knife on the taiga trail, a miniature copy of a monument to the Amur tiger in Vladivostok and a folding knife Rhino. Two of the three items have already been acquired by people who are not indifferent to the fate of Amur tigers.
The first went under the hammer copy of the monument to the Amur tiger, which in 2014 the Amur Tiger Center presented the city of Vladivostok. How the monument was created can be found in the film prepared by the Center.
The next lot sold was the knife-ax “On the taiga path”, decorated with the image of the Amur tiger - a collector's author's product made of Damascus steel. He was acquired by an American actor, martial artist and a great lover of cold arms, Steven Sigal during a visit to the exposition devoted to the Amur tiger and the Center’s projects for its protection. The actor donated a significant amount for the ax, which will be sent to projects for the conservation of a rare predator.
It is worth noting that the acquisition of Steven Seagal lot at a charity auction is not the first case when celebrities turn their attention to the projects of the Amur tiger Center.
On the eve of the American actress, model and animal protector Pamela Anderson visited the Center for the rehabilitation and reintroduction of Amur tigers and other rare animals in the village of Alekseyevka (Primorsky Krai), where a lion was rescued from a flooded zoo in Ussuriysk. The animal is now under the care of the Amur Tiger Center, which has undertaken to maintain, treat and provide food. During the visit, the actress not only visited the rescued lion, but also learned about the Amur tiger conservation programs operating in Primorye. The deputy general director, director of the Primorsky branch of the Amur Tiger Center, Sergey Aramilev, spoke about them. Pamela Anderson learned more about the work of the Center during her visit to the exposition dedicated to the Amur tiger and the Center’s projects.
Only one day is left before the end of the Eastern Economic Forum. Among others, one more of the lots presented by the Center is available. We hope that before the end of the auction he will find his owner, who wants to help the cause of preserving the Amur tigers. The auction is held in the area of the interactive exhibition “Wildlife of the Far East”, where a special stand of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Russia is located during the entire period of the Eastern Economic Forum. In parallel, the auction takes place on the site http://helptoprotect.ru.
