Participants of the team “Tiger”-2015 in Sikhote-Alin Reserve

In 2015, 25 students from Moscow, St.Petersburg,Voronezh, Novosibirsk and Primorsky Krai participated in the “Tiger Team” project in Sikhote-Alin Reserve. We publish complete list of participants.

AROSLANKIN ALEXEY For the second year in a row, a third-year student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture Alexei Aroslankin is taking part in the project. He managed to prove himself well during the last 2 seasons, he became an excellent team member and now he is assigned to the tasks that require serious responsibility. Alexei takes wonderful photos with just his phone. He returned to the camp because he wanted to keep helping the reserve, improving the new trail - this time near Golubichnoye Lake, where, according to his stories and photos, it is incredibly beautiful

BONK YANA A fourth-year student of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture majoring in Forestry. She is fond of volleyball, table tennis and athletics. She joined the project to acquire skills in working in specially protected natural areas.

DEYAK SEMYON A student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. Semyon considers responsibility, honesty and ability to find non-standard solutions in seemingly insoluble situations to be his positive qualities. He joined the student team Tiger to help the reserve and consolidate the knowledge gained in the Academy. In the future, he wants to work in a reserve or a national park.

ERMOLENKO DMITRY A fourth-year student of the Veterinary Insitute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. Dmitry worked for the research and production group "Epizootologist" and "Spasskaya veterinary stations to fight animal diseases." He carried out quarantine measures and the elimination of foot and mouth disease of animals in Spassky city district and Spassky municipal district of Primorsky Krai in 2014, in the project on the study of the Amur leopard and wild animals in 2013. He likes sport, plays basketball, volleyball, participates in cultural events. He joined the project to acquire practical skills of working with animals in the wild.

GVOZDEV VLADIMIR A first-year student of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture majoring in forestry. In early 2015 he took part in the Amur tiger census in the Russian Far East. He participated in extinguishing forest fires in the Academy’s forest area. He has experience in the field of environmental education. In the future, he sees himself as an employee of the Russian PA system.

KAMANDIGA NIKITA A first-year student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. In 2015 Nikita took part in the Amur tiger census in the Russian Far East. He has experience of extinguishing forest fires, planting trees, environmental education. In the future, Nikita plans to work in the system of protected areas of Russia.

KHARLAMOVA LILIYA A fourth-year student of Voronezh State Agrarian University majoring in veterinary. She has been a member of the Rostok social group since 2012 (volunteering, assistance to disabled people). Liliya decided to join the project to contribute to the development of the reserve and meet enthusiastic people.

KISILENKO DARIA A fourth-year student of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture majoring in forestry. Daria is sociable, responsible and easily trained. She joined the project because she believes that this is a great chance to gain experience and skills in working in specially protected natural areas.

KOSHEVATYI DMITRY A second-year student of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture majoring in forestry. He describes himself as a responsible person and has the experience of survival in extreme conditions. He wishes to consolidate the knowledge gained at the university and to cooperate with the reserve in the future.

KRUTIKOV ALEKSEY For the second time, Alexey Krutikov, a student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture, participates in the project, which, as he says, is "an integral part of his life”. During the last seasons Alexey has proved himself a good manager and now he is often sent to the most difficult sites. Extinguishing forest fires, winter censuses are a common thing for him. This year, Aleksey wants to improve his skills in carpentry and hopes that he will learn new methods and techniques of trail improvement.

KUZNETSOV ARTYOM A third-year student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. For the second year in a row, Artyom came to Sikhote-Alin Reserve to improve its infrastructure. He is an athlete, a member of the Academy’s sport team. He says that he fights for wildlife conservation, because "this is our home, we won’t survive without it." He is not afraid of camp life, hard work, as he has mentors who will always guide him, and true friends ready to help in a difficult situation.

LYGIN PAVEL Pavel is a student of the Veterinary Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. He considers himself a hardworking and enduring person. He became a participant of the project because he wants to fulfill himself as a specialist and gain new knowledge in the field of veterinary. Pavel participated in the implementation of quarantine measures and the elimination of foot-and-mouth disease in Spassky city district and Spassky municipal district of Primorsky Krai in 2014. He has considerable experience as a veterinarian, since he worked in Ussuriisk Veterinary Station for Combating Animal Diseases.

MOROZOV ALEKSANDER A third-year student at the Hunting Faculty of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University. He describes himself as a committed and hardworking person. He joined the project to contribute to the Amur tiger conservation and gain experience of working in a reserve.

NAGERNYAK ALEKSANDER A student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. Aleksander used to be a member of the TIS environmental protection team (winter census of wild animals, participation in planting trees on the islands in Khasansky district, participation in environmental education programs, etc.). He also took part in the 2015 "tiger" census in the Far East. Aleksander participates in the project because he wants to cooperate with the reserve and consolidate the theoretical knowledge he gained earlier.

OLKH IVAN A third-year student of the Hunting Faculty of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University. Ivan is a hardworking and ambitious man, he joined the project to gain experience, which will be of use for him in the future.

POPOV SERGEY Sergei is a fourth-year student of Voronezh State Agricultural University named after Emperor Peter the 1st majoring in Veterinary. In his list of interests, hiking stands next to drama club. Sergei decided to take part in the project to get a unique experience of communing with nature and to provide all possible assistance to the wildlife conservation.

RADCHENKO ANASTASIA A third-year student of St. Petersburg State Academy of Veterinary Medicine majoring in veterinary. Anastasia has experience working as an assistant veterinarian. She wants to contribute to the development of Primorye ecology, to know more about the protection of natural areas and experience of living in the wild. Anastasia loves camping, participates in city and university marathons and in various city events as a volunteer. Anastasia is a regular blood donor.

SELIVANOVA VERONIKA A third-year student of St. Petersburg Academy of Veterinary Medicine majoring in veterinary. She wants to get experience in the wild, share her knowledge with other project participants, contribute to the development of Sikhote-Alin Reserve. Veronica has some experience working as a veterinarian. She is sociably responsible: she has repeatedly been a blood donor, has experience in long distance hikes, a member of the volunteer movement in St. Petersburg.

SHASHENOK ALEKSEY Alexei is the team’s leader. He is a student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. He participated in the eco-trail construction in the Sikhote-Alin Reserve in 2014. Aleksey is a member of the Academy’s basketball team. He describes himself as a hardworking and executive guy with leadership skills. He decided to participate in the project to test himself in the wild and help the Amur tiger conservation.

SOKOLOVA ANNA A fourth-year student of Voronezh State Agricultural University named after Emperor Peter the Great majoring in Veterinary Medicine. Anna describes herself as a sociable and responsible person. She wants to contribute to nature and endangered species conservation.

STANIN ALEKSEY A fourth-year student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. Alexei describes himself as a hardworking, enduring and responsible person. He joined the project to get new experience and to test his theoretical knowledge. He already has experience of living in the wild. He worked for research and production team Epizootolog. Alexei is a member of the Academy’s KVN team (Club of the Funny and Inventive People).

TURBATOV PAVEL A fourth-year student of the Forestry Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. Having learned about the project from his friends who had taken part in it in 2014, Pavel was inspired by their experience and joined the project. For the second year in a row Pavel participates comes to the reserve. Among his accomplishments are participation in forest fire fighting, lectures on ecology and environmental protection, fighting illegal logging and poaching, membership in the TIS environmental team, and the 2015 tiger census. Pavel joined the project not only to improve his professional skills, but also to make new friends, find forest romance and take beautiful photos.

VALYAEV ALEXEY A first-year student of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture majoring in forestry. Aleksey participated in the winter census of wild animals and in environmental educational projects. He joined the student team Tiger to provide all possible assistance to the reserve and to consolidate knowledge he had gained at the Academy. In the future, he sees himself as an employee of the Russian PAs system.

VASHCHENKO ARTUR A second-year student of Scriabin Moscow State Academy of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnology majoring in veterinary. He participated in the organization of the Moscow International Veterinary Congress and an academic and research conference "A week of student's science." He is a laureate of regional academic and scientific events. He explains his participation in the project with a desire to get acquainted with the nature of Primorsky Krai and people living there, as well as professional interest. As a veterinarian Artur wants to do everything in his power to preserve the Amur tiger population.

VYACHESLAV VLADYKIN A student of the Veterinary Institute of Primorskaya State Academy of Agriculture. Vyacheslav was an intern at Spassky and Ussuriisk Veterinary Stations for Combating Animal Diseases. He took part in the liquidation of the oil spill in Molotov Bay and Kuban in June 2014. In 2014, he also took part in carrying out the quarantine measures and the elimination of foot-and-mouth disease in Spassky city district and Spassky municipal district of Primorye. He joined Team Tiger to become a good specialist, gain new knowledge in the field of veterinary medicine and make new friends.
