The Amur Tiger Center participated in IV All-Russian Congress of Environmental Protection

The  Amur Tiger Center was a partner of the working session on Conservation of biological and landscape diversity held December 3 at Crocus Expo in the framework of the IV All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection.

Protection of rare and endangered objects of flora and fauna, development of especially protected areas, international cooperation in conservation of biological and landscape diversity were the main topics for discussion. The best children's drawings of the Save the Amur tiger contest were presented on the Amur Tiger Center’s stand at the IV All-Russian congress of environmental protection.

Director general Yury Danilov performed a presentation about the importance of the Amur tiger conservation for future generations and about existing threats to the Red Book animals. He spoke about the Center and its plans to establish cooperation with public authorities in the fight against poaching, restoration of the hoofed animals population, natural habitat conservation, development of environmental education in the areal of ​​the Amur tiger.

The All-Russian Congress on Environmental Protection is a huge and significant event held in the framework of the Year of environmental protection in the Russian Federation. Working papers and the final resolution of the Congress will not only formulate new directions for the Russian environmental policy, but also will determine the country's development strategy in environmental legislation for decades to come.
