Sergey Dolya, a well-known russian blogger, author of LiveJournal's "Virtual travel pages", with the assistance of the Amur Tiger Center has visited the Far East in search of the Amur tiger.
Sergei Dolya arrived in Primorsky Krai for a weekend. During his trip he examined Vladivostok and Russian island from the air, visited the children's camp Okean (Ocean) and the Call of the Tiger National Park. The blogger has shot unique materials which will serve as a base for a film.
During the trip Dolya flew by helicopter over the southwestern Primorye - the only place in Russia where four wild cats live together - the Amur tiger, the Amur leopard, the leopard forest cat and the lynx.
"We were worried that it was not the best season for filming due to snow, ice and lack of greenery. But it went well in my opinion." - says Sergey in his page.
Sergei Dolya was being accompanied by Sergei Aramilev, director of the Primorsky branch of the Amur Tiger Center for a few days. The blogger got to know about activities and main tasks of the Centner and its staff, and inspected forage bases, camera traps and traces of tigers in the wild.
"The range of issues that can affect the life of the tiger is wide and it falls under the responsibility of a number of agencies, departments and various social institutions. They often do not see the whole problem or may not be able to quickly come to an agreement with each other. The Amur Tiger Center is intended to unite all the structures and solve such problems promptly. Quick provision of inspectors with satellite communications, delivery of vaccines for animals or even lobbying for amendments toughening responsibility for hunting animals listed in the Red Book – all these and many other tasks are solved by Sergey Aramilev and his team."- writes Sergei Dolya in his page.
Famous blogger examined from the air the Call of the Tiger National Park and the Milogradovka river area, where untouched cedar-broadleaf forests are preserved. National Park has a huge tourism potential. However, only the creation of infrastructure and further development of the park can provide the influx of tourists. In addition, the The Call of the Tiger National Park is valued for the preservation of unique natural complexes of the Far East, where the main gem is the Amur tiger.
"It is very important for people to see how beautiful the place where they live and to understand how big their role in the preserving these beauties. Only the development of environmental friendiness can create the understanding that destroying rare and endangered species of animals and plants, making a fire and leaving garbage in the forest is absolutely unacceptable. Of course, this will make a positive impact on the population of the Amur tiger".
