All law enforcement agencies are involved in prevention of poaching

On March 24, 2016 within conducting special operation by the staff of Border Service of FSB across Primorsky Krai the party of fragments of carcasses of wild animals has been found and withdrawn. The expertize which is carried out by the expert of the Amur Tiger Center has shown that among them there was also not cut hulk of a young individual of the Amur tiger.

According to preliminary data, the citizen living in Nadezhdensky district of Primorsky Krai stored in a refrigerator container in the house adjoining territory fragments of hulks of different types of animals, including carcass of the Amur tiger cub at the age of 3-5 months. Materials are betrayed in police for initiation of legal proceedings according to Art. 258.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

"Detection of the died tiger cub – a sad event. In the interests of the investigation many facts of the case at the moment aren't subject to disclosure, but it is already possible to tell that the staff of Border Service has performed large volume of works before they came to this "warehouse" and has stopped criminal activity. Participation of citizens in this activity still should be established during the investigation, – Aramilev Sergey, the director of the Far East Amur Tiger Center Department, comments, – during the most efficient examinations it is necessary to find out also exact quantity of the animals withdrawn from the citizen, their specific accessory, and, of course, a cause of death of a tiger cub. Nevertheless, a variety of the presented animals allows to assume that it is so-called "warehouse" of the people who are engaged in buying up and resale of derivatives and parts of bodies of animals".

Police officers during the investigation should establish not only citizens who stored "illegal" goods, but also persons who are directly involved in death of a tiger cub, and it is possible also his mothers. Usually such crimes aren't committed alone – the whole group of the person is involved in them. We will remind what storage of any part of a body of the Amur tiger already forms corpus delicti according to Art. 258.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, not to mention buying up or resale.

"Tiger cubs aren't in such age one, nearby remove practically always their mother who if leaves them, then for a while. Therefore, unfortunately, there is a probability of that, as the tigress could also die. I hope that during the investigation this fact will be disproved and if it is confirmed, then perpetrators will be punished put by it" - Aramilev adds.
