Guests of the Eastern Economic Forum will be told about the largest representative of the cat family - Amur tiger. Specialists of the Amur Tiger Center will share their environmental experience during one of the key sessions of the forum, and businessmen and politicians will be able to learn about the predator itself on a large-scale exposition prepared by the Center.
In addition, the Center will present several lots at a charity auction, all the proceeds from which will be transferred to environmental protection activities.
During the event, it is planned to discuss not only the economy. The natural heritage of the region will be discussed in the framework of the discussion “Towards sustainable development: business and biodiversity conservation”. The director of the Primorsky branch of the Amur Tiger Center, candidate of biological sciences Sergey Aramilev, who will talk about Russia's experience in preserving rare species of animals, will take part in the discussion. The Eastern Economic Forum is a new platform for interaction between leading Russian and foreign experts in the field of economics, government management and business from Russia and countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The forum will be held from 3 to 5 September 2015 on the Russian island in Vladivostok.
The forum will also discuss the initiatives aimed at promoting the Russian Far East as a region with great potential for the development of ecological tourism. The role of the Amur Tiger Center in these initiatives in its report will be reported by Sergey Golov, Deputy General Director of the Center for Development.
On the first day of the forum, a charity auction organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources of the Russian Federation and the Priroda Foundation, initiated by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Presidential Plenipotentiary to the Far Eastern Federal District Yury Trutnev, began its work. The purpose of the auction is to raise funds for the implementation of projects for the protection of rare species of animals, including Amur tigers and Amur leopards.
The guests of the forum will be introduced to the unique nature of the Far East by the exhibition of the Ministry of Nature and Ecology of the Russian Federation. Within the framework of this exhibition, the Amur Tiger Center will present its own exhibition dedicated to both the striped predator and its own projects.
The main place of the exhibition will be taken by an illustrated history of the study of the Amur tiger in Russia from the mid-19th century to the present day. Colorful infographics will tell you about the tiger itself and its range, and thanks to the presented photo and video materials you can take a look at the “master of the taiga” in its natural habitat.
Among the projects of the Amur Tiger Center, the student group “Tiger” will be represented at the forum, the participants of which have just completed the improvement of the second ecological trail in the Sikhote-Alin Nature Reserve, as well as the main environmental holiday of Primorye - Tiger Day in Vladivostok. Events dedicated to the predator will be held in the city on the last weekend of September. As in the past year, the participation of the Amur Tiger Center in organizing the holiday made it possible to create a rich program of events focused not only on creating a festive mood among residents and guests of Vladivostok, but also on drawing attention to the problems of preserving rare species of animals. Details of the 2015 Tiger Day celebration are among the first to be recognized by guests of the Eastern Economic Forum.
