Each team has a commander, and ours is no exception. The student team Tiger is headed by Bogdan Krasnobaev, a man who is in love with the taiga. He has chosen an appropriate specialty for a commander - "quality management" (in Far Eastern Federal University).
Dossier: Bogdan Krasnobaev, the commander of the student team Tiger, a third-year student of the School of Engineering of Far Eastern Federal University on the specialty Quality management. Bogdan grew up in a village not far from the Lazovsky Nature Reserve in southern Primorye, where his father worked. His father instilled the love for nature into the boy. Bogdan worked as an assistant guide on Petrov island. In 2013, he led a group of 13 people in the National Park "The Call of the Tiger", today he continues to be actively engaged in hiking.
- Bogdan, how did you choose your specialty in Far Eastern Federal University?
- I had never heard of this kind of activity and got interested so I decided to try. Since my childhood I love the forest: now I can not imagine my life without it. I stay in Primorye, my specialty isn’t related directly to the forest, but allows to stay linked with the taiga.
- Do you have a great experience in dealing with nature?
- Yes, I live in the village of Sokolchi, Lazovsky district. We have a national park on the one side, and the Lev Kaplanov reserve on the other. I spent my childhood and youth in the forest: my father was a forester and often took me with him to the cordon.
- What do the Sikhote-Alin Reserve and the Lev Kaplanov Reserve have in common?
- It is hard to say - time passes, everything changes. But it is definitely too early to talk about the construction of eco-trails there. There are only employees and scientists. And here the tourists can come and enjoy nature.
- How do you evaluate the level of eco-tourism in Primorsky Krai?
- We definitely have where to go and what to see. Olginsky, Chuguevsky, Lazovsky region. You can easily visit some places, but there are some reserves like the one near the village of Preobrazhenie, where you have to book a visit a year before as it is the only way to get into a grove of yew on Petrov island.
- And how did you become a "tiger"?
- I wanted to create a construction team for the trip to Kamchatka, but then I was offered to recruit students for the trip to the Sikhote-Alin Reserve and I agreed. That’s how Tiger became a part of my life.
- There is a great responsibility on you. Tell me about the commander duties.
- In general, I contact to the management of the reserve and organize the work of the team.
- Tell us about the work on Cape Severny. Is it hard?
- We are paving the path through the oak grove, digging stumps and roots. Within two days, we have paved more than fifty meters, there are still about 250 m to go. Girls will complete the trail. They will make everything look neatly –get rid of small roots and align edges. We will cope with the entire scope of work!
