The amur tiger in the eyes of young people of Primorye

Winners of the "We love the tiger" children's drawing contest were awarded in the children's art school № 1 in Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai. The competition was organized by the Amur Tiger Center with the assistance of the Administration of Primorsky Krai.

Participants had a little more than a week to send their works to the jury. It turned out that students of Primorsky Krai had been interested in drawing the master of the Taiga so pictures were sent from all over the region.

Diplomas and valuable gifts were presented to nine students in the younger, middle and older age groups, and the student of Ussuriysk had been awarded earlier. At the award ceremony held on Feb. 21, 2014 the representative of the Primorye branch of the Amur Tiger Center emphasized the importance of such events for young people of the region. "We should foster the love of nature and inhabitants of the Taiga now. It is important to attract as many children as possible to environmental issues ", - said Subbotin A.E.

The great work for the conservation of the Amur tiger, the symbol of the region, is carried out in the south of the Russian Far East.

"Our objective is to unite the efforts of government agencies, concerned organisations and the residents to preserve and increase the population of the Amur tiger", - said the representative of the Department of hunting supervision of Primorsky Krai Grebennikov E.A.
